About
RC BURNS is a Singer/Songwriter, Bagpiper and Author of Short Stories and Novels. Cutting his teeth on and being inspired by the music of artists like John Prine, Steve Goodman, Stan Rogers and Gordon Lightfoot, RC Burns has written a collection of original songs based on his own real life experiences and observations and released his first album “Full Circle” in 2021.
RC “Cecil” Burns was born in Toronto, grew up in Wasaga Beach, Ontario and now makes his home in Kenora, a small city in Northwestern Ontario not far from the Manitoba border. His over 40-year career in Environmental and Energy Management took RC from such exotic places as Peru through to the Northwest Territories working on a variety of environmental and energy projects. Upon retiring, RC reconnected with his high school friend, award winning Producer JK Gulley and through the magic of the internet and some in-studio sessions, the album “Full Circle” was born.
The first single released was the title track and the story of how RC and JK started writing songs in high school and have come together nearly 50 years later to fulfill a lifelong dream. RC Burns has indeed come “Full Circle”!

I'm still around and working on new music. I have finished the updates to the site (for now) so the free downloads of the album has ended - I hope you took advantage of the offer. I'd love to hear any feedback that you might have - I always want to improve my craft.
Work continues on the new album - this one will be limited to 8 tracks but will be focused on the theme of "Country Love Songs" - the title track. Six of the songs now have a rough basic guitar/vocal mix completed and JK is working on the final arrangements. Currently the songs include - "Country Love Songs, "Pale Blue Eyes", "Heaven On Earth", "Elizabeth Anne", "Heat of the Moment", and "(Nothing in the World) Like Your Smile". I haven't selected the final 2 songs yet - they may still yet to be written.
Just got word that my song "Me & Elvis & Jesus" was a top 10 finalist at the World Songwriting Awards - in the Traditional Country Category - nice ego boost to start the week. The results of the Great American Song Contest have been announced - no wins for me this year. I am awaiting the judges comments - they always are constructive and help me to focus and writing great songs. .
