RC BURNS is a Singer/Songwriter, Bagpiper and Author of Short Stories and Novels. Cutting his teeth on and being inspired by the music of artists like John Prine, Steve Goodman, Stan Rogers and Gordon Lightfoot, RC Burns has written a collection of original songs based on his own real life experiences and observations and released his first album “Full Circle” in 2021.
RC “Cecil” Burns was born in Toronto, grew up in Wasaga Beach, Ontario and now makes his home in Kenora, a small city in Northwestern Ontario not far from the Manitoba border. His over 40-year career in Environmental and Energy Management took RC from such exotic places as Peru through to the Northwest Territories working on a variety of environmental and energy projects. Upon retiring, RC reconnected with his high school friend, award winning Producer JK Gulley and through the magic of the internet and some in-studio sessions, the album “Full Circle” was born.
The first single released was the title track and the story of how RC and JK started writing songs in high school and have come together nearly 50 years later to fulfill a lifelong dream. RC Burns has indeed come “Full Circle”!

Still feeling the love since “Me & Elvis & Jesus” won the 2023 UK Songwriting Contest for the Country Category . The songs I submitted to the Great American Song Contest this year, “Come To Me” and “In the Heat of the Moment” didn't win but received some high praise and scores from the judges - 73/90 and 81/90 respectively . Another song from my first album “Rich, Dark Earth” was named a Top 10 Traditional Country Song at the Winter 2024 World Songwriting Awards - that's 5 songs from “Full Circle” that have achieved that distinction. Still sorting out the prizes from the UK contest. I have also been nominated for International Male Vocalist, Rising Star, Songwriter and Emerging Artist for the 2024 ISSA Awards (International Singer Songwriter Association) in Atlanta this coming August.
